專任助理教授

英國倫敦大學金匠學院 (Goldsmiths, University of London) 媒體與傳播博士,主修華語電影和文化研究。英國倫敦政治經濟學院 (LSE) 文化與社會碩士,政大英文系學士,雙輔系中國文學系和哲學系。

研究專長領域為華語電影和文化研究,近年來聚焦於當代台灣電影、香港電影、東亞電影與跨國電影等研究範疇。學術期刊論文發表於 Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies (2023, 2020, A&HCI, Scopus)、《中外文學》(2022, THCI, ESCI),學術專書論文發表於 East Asian Film Remakes (Edinburgh University Press, 2023)、Sport, Film and National Culture (Routledge, 2020)、Positioning Taiwan in a Global Context: Being and Becoming (Routledge, 2019)。

學術研究之外,攝影創作曾獲美國 IPA、法國 PX3 Fine Art Photography 等獎項,並曾獲得國藝會視覺藝術類出國駐村創作獎助,前往芬蘭 Arteles Creative Center 進行駐村藝術創作。

Hi, I am Ting-Ying Lin, an Assistant Professor of the PhD/MA Program in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan. My research fields include contemporary Taiwan cinema, Hong Kong cinema, Asian cinema, East Asian cinema, and transnational cinema. I have recently published in East Asian Film Remakes (2023, Edinburgh University Press), Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies (2023, 2020), Chung Wai Literary Quarterly (2022), Sport, Film and National Culture (Routledge, 2020), and Positioning Taiwan in a Global Context: Being and Becoming (Routledge, 2019).

I received a PhD in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK (2013-2018), where I worked as an Associate Lecturer in the World Cinema course (2014-2015).  I hold a master's degree in Culture and Society from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK, and a bachelor's degree in English with double minors in Philosophy and Chinese Literature from National Chengchi University, Taiwan. Also as an independent visual artist, I have been trained in the Photography Professional Practice and Academic Portfolio Course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, UK.

 

My main research interests focus on East Asian screen media and visual cultures, particularly on contemporary Taiwan and Hong Kong cinemas. My current research topics include the issues of politics, identities and activism in contemporary Taiwan and Hong Kong cinemas, alongside the dynamic relations between the transnational and national in the case of contemporary Taiwan cinema.

My photographic art particularly explores the relations between urban spaces and individuals in the forms of abstract and minimalism art photography. I am also interested in using photography to examine the symbolic meaning of rural landscapes.
